This cool Frisbee idea seems to be taking off as the mission to get the whole world playing Frisbee continues...

Playing Frisbee, whether it's throw and catch, Ultimate, Disc Golf, or whatever, just feels so good! Plus there are the health benefits, personal development opportunities, and there are strong of linkages to the curriculum for all ages.

Matt Cutler, our Bristol based coach, and I have been beavering away, delivering coaching sessions, events and trainings in schools and community events all over the place! Also, the team is constantly expanding and gaining more experience of how to get people to 'Catch the Spirit' of playing Frisbee, dealing with all kinds of variables to ensure all participants have a stimulating and valuable experience.

This summer, up in the North East, Ben Martin has been doing the rounds in many schools and I am so pleased to have received so much positive feedback from teachers and kids about his fun approach and awesome demonstrations. Ben has been working solo some of the time and had the assistance from Richard Milburn when working with larger groups. Richard first got into Frisbee four years ago when I first started introducing the idea with a local Explorer Scout group. It's great that Richard has been able to gain experience of Ultimate at University and then come back to pass on the knowledge and skills.

Another Ex-Explorer Scout, Uni Ultimate veteran and BDGA Disc Golfer is Simon Fox who has also been busy over recent weeks working along side Jason Hussein, an experienced youth worker and proficient Frisbee-man. The pair have been particularly effective with the oder kids, getting them switched on to Frisbee with disc golf putting games, Discathon challenges and Ultimate tasters.

Meanwhile, down in the South West, Matt has developed some CTS apprentices of his own and they will be more ready and available to work in the area during the next academic year.

What does the future hold? Well, Catch the Spirit will be undergoing a summer of reflection, innovation and continued development. So visit us again in September to see what's going down (or up, I should say!)
