Group Activities

A selection of fun Disc Golf games and challenges for 2 or more participants.

Putting Games

Ring of Fire - Group of players make a circle around the basket.  Everyone putts at the same time. If you miss you loose a life, you are out when you run out of lives (1,2,3 dependent on group ability and distance from the basket)

Putting game

Like a high jump contest each player has 6 attempts and 3 failures to successfully putt from an increasing distance. The distance increases by 1m for each round.

Expansion; Run a team relay race in teams of 5 taking it in turns to putt moving out to the next cone once 3 putts have been holed. Race to 5m and back into 1m. To make more start at 2m and go back 2m at a time out to 10m.

Approach Games

Disc Bowls

Like boule or bowls each player has 3 or 4 shots from the tee at the basket, the player wins the number of points corresponding to the number of discs closer than the opposition.
In this case player A (yellow discs) wins 2 points.
Play 9 holes of around 20-50m requiring different skills.
10 bonus points are gained if you geta hole in one. 5 points if you hit the basket but don't stay in.

Driving

Force Back

Player A starts by throwing the disc from behind the halfway line as far as they can player B then throws it back from where the disc lands as far as they can. Then player A throws from where it lands. If a players throw doesn't make it past the line the other player scores 1 point.  The player who looses the point then takes the first throw of the next point. Game to 5 then switch ends.
If the disc lands outside the sides of the “court” you loose the point there is no “baseline”

Expansion; Make the “court” narrower to increase accuracy.

Playing Holes

Speed Golf - In teams of 5- 15 people spread out around a course and see how quickly you can get 1 disc around the course. each shot must come to rest on the floor and be holed out into each basket. Tactics and planning required!

Hole Creation - Can play in any open space with portable targets and the person who scored the lowest on the previous hole designs the next hole.  If scores are tied the player closest to the pin on the previous hole designs the next hole. play in groups of up to 5 players.  Can extend by requiring certain shots to be played eg. All must drive witha hammer throw.
